Welcome back to the most random, yet related, countdown to June 11th, which is of course, the day of graduation for University of Cincinnati undergraduates.
On Tuesday the 24th of May I bring you the number 18, made famous in my childhood by Bobby Labonte, but recently brought to fame by Kyle “Rowdy” Busch.

I’ve seen the younger Busch brother a few times in my ventures to Kentucky Speedway and Indianapolis Motor Speedway, and each time he has piloted the No. 18 car for Job Gibbs Racing. Every year I pick Busch to have a breakout at the Brickyard 400 but he’s yet to prove me right. And if it wasn’t for his teammate Joey Logano at Kentucky, I’m sure I would have seen Busch’s patented bow to the crowd victory celebration at least once.

Speaking of other important and famous 18s, how about the Man(ning) that has led my fantasy football team for the past five seasons: Peyton Manning.
Here’s to Kyle Busch, Bobby Labonte and Peyton Manning, who have all made the number 18 worth rooting for at one time or another, as I sit 18 days from graduation.
