Ask and you shall receive Cincinnati NASCAR fans.
Last Friday I (angrily) told you about how Cincinnati has a Sprint Cup race but not an MRN or PRN affiliate. (Check the post here: http://adamniemeyer.blogspot.com/2011/04/no-nascar-on-radio-in-cincinnati.html) And we might be the only market that has a Sprint Cup race but no MRN or PRN affiliate.
It’s frustrating trying to listen to a Cup race when the nearest radio station to me is located in Lawrenceburg. Even from my home on the West Side reception can be shaky, and for a diehard NASCAR guy like me, shaky reception is not fun.
Even though I’ll be hanging out live at Kentucky Speedway with 106,000 other folks during the Quaker State 400, those of you who are stuck at home or work in Cincinnati—and surrounding areas—can tune into to ESPN 1530 (WCKY-AM) for race coverage.
Here’s the official release from 1530’s website:
"ESPN 1530 has picked up NASCAR Sprint Cup and Nationwid Series races set for Kentucky Speedway July 8-9. The Performance Racing Network says ESPN 1530 will carry the Feed the Children Nationwide Series race on Friday July 8 and the Quaker State 400 on Saturday July 9."
I can almost hear it now, “Live from the Kentucky Speedway this is PRN, the Performance Racing Network, the voice of NASCAR.”
Doesn’t get much sweeter than that.
