There are two and a half weeks until graduation at UC, and that means there are 17 days until Commencement Ceremonies occur.
It’s probably my dad’s favorite NASCAR number, and he’s taken a liking to Matt Kenseth, who has two wins this season. Kenseth’s sponsor Smirnoff gave away tickets here in Cincinnati in 2003, and it allowed my dad and me to begin our streak of consecutive Brickyard 400s which is still standing.

Kenseth has been an easy guy to follow, especially since he was a teammate of Mark Martin when both were at Roush Racing. In fact, Martin was listed as the car owner of the No. 17 when Kenseth won the Winston Cup in 2003.
So here’s to Matt Kenseth, driver of the No. 17 car, 2003 NASCAR Cup champ and 2009 Daytona 500 champ, and just 17 days until I graduate.
