14 Days until Graduation

It’s Memorial Day weekend, and who better to serve as the honorary number 14 on the countdown to graduation than the one and only, Rushville, Indiana native, Tony Stewart.

Stewart may not have won an Indy 500, but he's won two Brickyard 400s in his career

Speaking of Indiana awesomeness this weekend, how could I possibly leave out the fact that Smoke drove in open wheel for a few years, and gave it a few shots to win the Indy 500 in his Indiana home.

Cue him:

Smoke took the No. 14 after leaving Joe Gibbs Racing to form his own team, Stewart-Haas Racing in 2009. His biggest influence in picking that number? Anthony Joseph Foyt Jr., better known to anyone and everyone who follows motorsports as A.J. Foyt.
Oddly enough, Foyt’s last NASCAR race was the inaugural Brickyard 400 in 1994, at the same track where he won four Indy 500s.

And not to anger my father, a regular reader, I must mention that maybe the most famous No. 14 in Cincinnati sports history was the No. 14 worn by Peter Edward Rose, Major League Baseball’s All-Time hit king.

In two weeks it’s all over, but for now, enjoy the No. 14 on the countdown toward graduation.
