Coke 600 Rain Delayed and Indy thoughts

When does the Brickyard 400 start?

Today's prerace ceremonies from the Indy 500 re-lit that ever burning fire, that undying passion I have for live Cup Series racing that takes place once a year at the speedway in Speedway, Indiana. Jim Nabors put the finishing touches on a great day, and I got ready to watch NASCAR RaceDay on Speed Channel.

Ok, I'll admit, I did watch bits and pieces of the Indy 500, but just to make sure I didn't miss anything important. And, had I known it would look like this in Charlotte:
I would have tuned in for more of the only live televised racing action that took place in the USA today.

So, the Coke 600 is abandoned for one more day, and chances are it'll be a fight against Mother Nature again tomorrow. So, enjoy your Memorial Day, and the 50th episode of the Coke 600. It sure looks like this guy was plenty fired up about the rain delay down at Lowe's Motor Speedway. Perhaps a little too excited.------------------------------------------------
I'd also feel guilty for forgetting to mention that Elder's volleyball team defeated St. Xavier yesterday in four games and will move on to the state elite eight Saturday afternoon in Cleveland. I'll push for local TV to go up, but I doubt I'll make the trip to watch the Panthers (hopefully) claim their second straight state title.

After all, it was two years ago tonight that, my senior year, the volleyball team I had done stats for for three seasons lost in five games to Moeller in one of the best volleyball matches in history to finish second in the state.

Oh, and happy Birthday to Joey Logano. He's now a year and a half younger than I, and approximately half a year older than my younger brother. Have I ever mentioned how awesome it would be to be Joey Logano?
